I just returned from my trip to Sri Lanka. What a trip. 3.5 hour drive from the hotel to the airport, 3 hours before check-in and another 4 hours on the plane back home. But what it was a dreamy and a beautiful wedding. It seemed like the whole village came to see the festive wedding as there was dozens of cute little tuk tuks decorated with white roses and even an elephant to celebrate the newly weds. I love going to weddings. It makes you feel so happy and cherish the small things in life.
It was a beautiful sunny but breezy day so I thought of going for something bright and Sri Lanka-ish style. Pulled out my old Giuseppe Zanotti shoes which was designed by Mr. Zanotti for each guests who was invited to the opening of his flagship store in Tokyo many years ago. He was such a gentleman and very friendly person who had a great passion for shoes. So inspiring… I still kept the design sketch because for somehow he had colored my shoes yellow which coincidentally happens to be my lucky color.
So I went with a yellow dress from the brand I really like, Issa London.
I love the fact that their dresses are not too formal but elegant and comes in silk fabric. I cannot say no to anything that is silk. The after party went pretty wild with great live music by the pool side. Which meant stay away from the pool when the party starts to get crazy! I guess for some people who got enough booze? decided to just go with it. Jump in the pool with their Armani/ Hugo Boss suits.
As for me, I called it a night just around 1am. Champagne, wine, dance… bonne nuit!

1st night of the Sri Lanka wedding was a reception dinner by the beach. Luckily the rain and stormy nights that has been going on since the past few days had suddenly stopped and a nice blue sky appeared just as the dinner was about to start.
The venue was just amazing.
I decided to go with something summer ish … Combination of what I love, a silk chiffon dress from L’AGENCE with a sunflower print. L’AGENCE has a timeless, classic and chic design. The dress has a bit of a Japanese kimono inspire to it which I love and very comfortable to wear. The silk fabric is so thin it flows around your body. It just feels good.
With this dress, it’s time for my Manolo to come out from the shoe box. The flower deco pin on the shoes went well with the flower print on the dress.
And touched it up with a bracelet shaped like the circular flower heads.
I definitely had too much food and wine, its 1 am now…
Good night everyone!

I had arrived in Sri Lanka around 2am, and got to the hotel around 5am. So I had a good 6 hour sleep to get energized. Since Sri Lanka is known for its Ceylon tea, I decided to go visit a tea plantation.
It was a plantation well known for their White Virgin Tea which the tea leaves are untouched by hands and distributed only to Mariage Freres in Paris well known for its high quality tea. I love Mariage Freres tea so it was a pleasant surprise to find out that this tea plantation distributes their leaves to them.
