garden party

I am taking small steps to become a permanent resident in Singapore!  Went to the embassy of Japan the other day to do some paper work.

Finally being back to Singapore from my long trip in Japan, I am back to summer fashion.

I don’t have that many printed clothes but this is one of my favorite one.  Matched the sunflower print dress with my Garden Party Hermes bag.

I have a few pair of L’AGENCE brand clothing.  What I love about this brand is their detail care of texture, silhouette and design.  Every little details I love and makes me feel so happy when I wear them.

For this dress,  the fabric is a very delicate 100% silk.  The chiffon is amazing and the gathers at the waist like is carefully altered.

Love the concept behind their brand (below).  My fashion style is more a good classic chic styles rather than a throw away trend.  Whatever I buy, I would want it to remain in my closet year after year.

I would rather have ONE very sophisticated classy silk dress, rather than TEN trendy cotton/ nylon dress which I may not wear after that season.

What about you?

L’AGENCE brand concept (from their website)
— washed silks and Japanese and Italian fabrics. Maldonado wanted to pair the finest fabrications with modern, yet classic silhouettes to create luxury that was affordable.   A firm believer in elements of enduring style–fabric and its hand, combined with great fit–L’AGENCE sets out to create styles that remain in a woman’s wardrobe year-after-year. Each season is meant to complement the next, a progression and fresh interpretation.   A firm believer in elements of enduring style–fabric and its hand, combined with great fit–L’AGENCE sets out to create styles that remain in a woman’s wardrobe year-after-year. mixing highs and lows

Today’s outfit… mixing highs and lows.

I have tried many different brands and bought so much in my early and late 20’s. My styles have revolved. I’ve learned what I don’t look good in certain styles and also what I like.

Even though each season has a trend, I don’t follow EVERY trend out there. Because when you come to your mid 30’s you start to establish your own style. Although this Spring/Summer what I did like was the neon trend. I love wearing bright colors. But keeping it simple. Not from head to toe neon.

Okay back to the subject…

I like to mix highs and lows. Reality is… I work, I have limits and budgets. So today I took one of my highs – Hermès bag, and my lows – UNIQLO black skinny pants (so comfy I stocked 2 pairs).

Adding a little class, keeping it chic and quality fabric. I think that is my style. What is yours?

In my early 30’s I come to realize that I didn’t need 10-20 different bags, I only need few fabulous bags that are eternal and I can hold forever. Hermès.

Sri Lanka:: untouchable white tea

I had arrived in Sri Lanka around 2am, and got to the hotel around 5am. So I had a good 6 hour sleep to get energized. Since Sri Lanka is known for its Ceylon tea, I decided to go visit a tea plantation.

It was a plantation well known for their White Virgin Tea which the tea leaves are untouched by hands and distributed only to Mariage Freres in Paris well known for its high quality tea. I love Mariage Freres tea so it was a pleasant surprise to find out that this tea plantation distributes their leaves to them.
